Governing Law: Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) explain the rules that govern the use of Solv’s platform. They apply to Solv’s website, mobile application, and all associated services (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using Solv, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and other referenced agreements.

  1. About licenses and third party content

1.1. About licenses and third party content

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use Solv. This license is conditional on compliance with these Terms and Nigerian law.

Solv aims to keep the Platform secure and reliable, but we cannot guarantee continuous availability. Solv may suspend or withdraw services without prior notice.

1.2. We can stop you using our site and services

If you breach these Terms, commit fraud, or use Solv unlawfully, we may revoke your license immediately. You will be notified of termination and must cease use of Solv’s services.

1.3. We keep the rights to our intellectual property

All rights in Solv’s trademarks, software, designs, algorithms, and the Solv Credits system remain with Solv Technologies Limited. Unauthorized use is prohibited. Logos, brand names, and marks used by Clients or Service Providers may be protected by third parties.

1.4. You can use Solv to share your content with the world

1.4.1. You’re responsible for what you post

You are solely responsible for any content you post (profiles, listings, messages, files). You must only post content that:

  • You have the right to post.
  • Is legal under Nigerian and international law.
  • Does not infringe intellectual property, privacy, or contractual rights.

You agree to indemnify Solv against claims, costs, or legal action arising from your content.

1.4.2. Other people have some rights to what you post

By posting content on Solv, you grant Solv and its affiliates a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, adapt, display, and share such content for Platform operations. Other users and visitors may access, copy, or share your content through the Platform, subject to these Terms.

1.4.3. We’re open to your ideas

Suggestions for improving Solv are welcome. By submitting ideas, you grant Solv a free, perpetual license to use them without obligation to compensate you.

  1. What you’re allowed to do on Solv

You may use Solv to:

  • Find and hire Service Providers.
  • Offer and deliver services as a Service Provider.
  • Use Solv Credits to apply for jobs, boost proposals, and unlock premium features.
  • Communicate with users through the Platform.
  • Learn from information published on Solv.

Solv is intended for business use, not for consumer or purely personal use.

  1. What you’re not allowed to do on Solv

3.1. Post unacceptable content

You may not post or request services that are:

  • Illegal under Nigerian law.
  • Defamatory, discriminatory, harassing, or exploitative.
  • Sexually explicit, escort-related, or linked to child exploitation.
  • Violating copyright, trademark, or IP rights.
  • Related to academic dishonesty (ghostwriting, cheating services).
  • False, misleading, or fraudulent (including fake reviews).

3.2. Act in a misleading or fraudulent way

You may not:

  • Misrepresent your identity, skills, or qualifications.
  • Use fake profile photos or documents.
  • Submit proposals on behalf of others without disclosure.
  • Engage in fraudulent billing or falsify work records.
  • Demand or accept payments without intention to provide services.
  • Post jobs without intention to pay.

3.3. Treat others unfairly

Prohibited actions include:

  • Unlawful discrimination or harassment.
  • Posting sensitive private information of others.
  • Spamming other users with proposals or invites.
  • Demanding free work or “spec” work.
  • Requesting deposits or fees to submit proposals.

3.4. Abuse our feedback system

You may not:

  • Coerce users into giving positive reviews.
  • Exchange money or favours for reviews.
  • Post irrelevant or fake reviews.
  • Hire yourself or collude to inflate ratings.

3.5. Other uses that aren’t allowed

You may not:

  • Circumvent Solv’s payment or Solv Credits system.
  • Share contact details to bypass Solv before a contract is formed.
  • Recruit for competing platforms without Solv’s consent.
  • Scrape, hack, or overload the Platform.
  • Upload malware or harmful code.
  • Reverse-engineer Solv’s software or Solv Credits system.
  1. Enforcing our terms of use

4.1. We enforce these rules

Solv may investigate violations, remove content, suspend accounts, or terminate access. Failure to act in one case does not waive rights to enforce later. If your account is closed, you remain responsible for obligations incurred before closure.

4.2. Tell us if you see someone breaking these rules

If you believe someone is violating these Terms, report it to Solv’s support team. You agree to cooperate with investigations.

  • Affiliate: Any entity that controls, is controlled by, or under common control with Solv.
  • Client: A person or entity using Solv to hire services.
  • Service Provider: A person or entity using Solv to provide services.
  • Engagement: A contractual relationship between Client and Service Provider through Solv.
  • Solv Credits: Tokens used to apply for jobs, boost proposals, or access premium features. They are non-refundable and have no cash value.
  • Escrow: A holding account where Client funds are retained until services are delivered or disputes resolved.
  • Content: Any material posted on Solv by users, including profiles, job posts, messages, files, or feedback.
  • Platform Fee: The commission Solv charges on completed transactions.
  • Means of Direct Contact: Phone numbers, emails, or personal websites shared to bypass Solv’s systems.
  1. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Contracts Act, Cybercrimes Act 2015, Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019, and the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023.Disputes unresolved through Solv’s mediation will be referred to arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, conducted in English under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users via email or platform notices. Continued use of Solv means you accept the revised Terms.
